Courageous Together Summit

James "Major" Woodall, Division President |  Division Officers | Youth Works Committee | ACT-SO | Y & C Units

This past year, black youth leaders have rekindled the flame of resistance in communities and campuses across the country to dismantle oppressive systems and restore the soul of America by creating a world for all people to thrive. The NAACP recognizes "courage will not skip this generation" ™ and the need to convene this  generation of young black community, civic and faith leaders to develop a collective mission and to provide resources for a sustainable movement.

Therefore, the Courageous Together National Summit will gather young leaders in Chicago, Illinois on March 4-5, 2016 to:

  • Develop a national policy agenda that addresses issues in education, economic sustainability, health, public safety and criminal justice, climate justice, and voting rights and political representation

  • Provide a space for young black leaders from across the country to meet and exchange ideas related to the issues concerning black youth and black communities

  • Foster relationships between pre-millennial and millennial leaders as allies for the movement

Registration is free and includes meals and conference materials for all participants. There are limited travel and lodging sponsorships available for the Summit. Registration Deadline February 15, 2016.  For more information please contact
