YOUR VOTE

For decades, the NAACP has used its mighty voice and its strength in numbers to force change. Change in our schools. Change in our police departments. Change at our state capitols and in Congress. This year, the first presidential election in 50 years without the full protection of the Voting Rights Act, we will need to draw on the strength of our numbers again.

This summer, we need you to join our partnership of community-based organizations in a coordinated campaign to register more than 300,000 voters and bring them to the polls by leveraging today’s technology including social media and the VAN system, and using the strategies and tactics we’ve learned and perfected over the years, including phone banking, door-to-door canvassing and working with communities and churches. If we act, we can ensure our numbers and presence are not ignored.

GEORGIA GOALS

Registration - In Georgia, there are 381,380 unregistered African American Voters.  Our 2020 goal is the register 381,380.

To accomplish the same, the Georgia NAACP will coordinate our Units across to the state to leverage our partnership of community-based organizations (Fraternities, Sororities, HBCU Alumni Networks, Masons, Eastern Stars, etc) using the strategies and tactics we’ve learned and perfected over the years. These strategies including targeted social media and online registration campaigns, phone banking,

door-to-door canvassing and event based registration efforts.

Education - At each Quarterly Meeting and Annual State Convention, there will be technical and issue based training regarding the

6 Gamechangers Agenda and specific legislation along with elected officials who support our values. This will be supplemented by

Branch level Candidate and Political Action Forums fine tuned to address local issues, specific legislative concerns and elected officials who support our values.

Mobilization -  The Georgia NAACP will have targeted Absentee Ballot; Early Voting and Day of Election Campaigns

aimed at students, seniors, returning citizens, urban and rural communities.

Turnout - The Georgia NAACP seeks to directly influence 100,000 African Americans to cast a ballot who otherwise may not.
